Life is But a Weaving
Corrie Ten Boom (The Tapestry Poem)

My life is but a weaving
Between my God and me.
I cannot choose the colors
He weaveth steadily.
Oft' times He weaveth sorrow;
And I in foolish pride
Forget He sees the upper
And I the underside.
Not 'til the loom is silent
And the shuttles cease to fly
Will God unroll the canvas
And reveal the reason why.
The dark threads are as needful
In the weaver's skillful hand
As the threads of gold and silver
In the pattern He has planned
He knows, He loves, He cares;
Nothing this truth can dim.
He gives the very best to those
Who leave the choice to Him.

I titled my blog Intentional Mommyhood, because that is my greatest desire in this journey of motherhood that I am on, as well as my path in life.  I want to live my life intentionally, in all that I say and all that I do...  to be someone who lives life on purpose, and therefore, to the fullest extent.

First and foremost, I am the child of the One true King.  I am blessed and honored to serve him.  Without his Grace, nothing in life would be possible or worth living.  I thank him for his mercy and his goodness!

I am originally from the mountains in Western NC.  I was born and spent most of my life in the cool mountain air.  That is where I met and married my husband, Stephen.  We were in our mid twenties when my husband surrendered his call to preach.  A few years down the road we found ourselves and our four children on a new adventure as we moved into campus housing at a Bible college a couple of hours from our hometown, where we really learned what it meant to submit to Gods calling on your life.
Now we are all the way on the other side of the state, on the coastal side of North Carolina.  My husband pastors a lovely church on the sound.  It is a beautiful and peaceful place, and we are planted here in the perfect time on our life.  God has blessed us graciously and abundantly, and I love the joy of living in the center of his will.

I am also a homeschooling Mama to four beautiful blessings.  Because this blog is my story, and their stories are their own, I affectionately use their bloggy nicknames throughout this story.  Bella (15) is my oldest.  Deeply artistic, lover of music and dance, she is responsible and kind.  She is the most wonderful big sister to her siblings, and I'm so proud of the young woman she has grown to be.  Sister (10) is my youngest daughter.  She loves animals with all of her heart and is strongly athletic.  She loves to ride horses, and has a heart for missions that I believe will carry her into her own personal ministry in life.  Brother (8) is our oldest son.  He is very outgoing and kind hearted.  He loves to dance and has an uncanny music appreciation, even for classical music.  He enjoys legos and sports, and could spend an entire day in the water.  Lastly, Hero (4) is our youngest son and the baby of the family.  He is so full of life and loves everyone that he meets.  He's very social and is growing into a great athelete.  He loves being outside, anything Star Wars, and hanging out with his siblings as if he were their age a well.

Hubby and I both enjoy photography and writing.  We could read on the beach for hours on end, and I'm completely in love with the beach, absolutely everything about it.  I also enjoy movies, quiet evenings, decorating and spending time with friends and family.  Blogging, as well, as if you didn't catch that already :)

Thank you for stopping by!!  So nice to meet you!!
