Happy Homemaker Monday- May 7, 2018

Hi friends!  Once again it's Monday, so I'm joining Sandra at Diary of a Stay at Home Mom for my favorite weekly linkup!

Happy Homemaker Monday

The weather.....
  This past week was beautiful!  We were all so sick we didn't enjoy too much of it, but it was in the 80s and glorious!  I did spend one beautiful day Wednesday on a blanket out in my yard while doing my Bible study, and it was amazing!  I'm thankful for last week!  Today its rainy, but rainy days are good days to catch up on missed schoolwork!!

Right now I am...
   Finishing my breakfast shake and catching up on blogging things before workout time!

Thinking....
  I can't believe that tomorrow my oldest son will be 9!!  It seems unbelievable that 9 years have passed since that sweet, smiling baby came into my life!  He's brought so much joy to my life that I can't even begin to thank my amazing heavenly Father enough for him.  I love that boy to the moon and back again!

On my reading pile....
   Oh my its an ever growing pile!  I hope to post a blog later about mine and the kids summer reading list!  Right now my top books are: Scarlett, Hands Free Mama, and my devotion I'm reading and loving is My Utmost for His Highest.  It's wonderful!  There's lots of books I wanna get through this summer!  My kindle (in the blue and green dot cover) is full of books I want to read this summer!

On my TV.....
  I haven't watched much this week due to sickness and the craziness of finishing up school for the year over the next couple of weeks.  I also didn't workout last week so no television for me.  Hubby and I did watch something on Netflix with Adam Sandler but I don't remember what?  I need to finish the last episode of season four of When Calls the Heart but I don't want too!  How long before season 5 hits Netflix?  I've been enjoying Timeless before I took the week off from working out, so maybe today I'll pick that one back up again.

Something Interesting I watched.....
 This is Sandra's new category...  she says it could be a show or something on Youtube, so I'm going to share this!

   I'm a little bummed out.  Our plan was to see Infinity War for my son's birthday, but both of my sisters went to see it this weekend and the consensus is its just too violent for kiddos to enjoy, and kind of darker than most Marvel movies without the 'funny' parts.  So we are scratching that for now.  Maybe when it comes out on DVD hubby and I can pre-screen it before we decide, and nothing is as intense on television as it is in theaters.  Bummer.  I am a big marvel fan though...

On the menu for this week....
   Part of my seeking peace is also to find financial peace.  That's been a big issue for us all of our lives.  So I actually did do meal planning last week and took the list to the grocery store.  Hopefully we spent less, and with the birthday coming up I planned simple meals that don't require a lot, so its kind of boring, but here's the menu nonetheless...
  Monday: Ranch chicken pasta
  Tuesday: Spaghetti (Hudson's chosen birthday dish)
  Wednesday: Chicken casserole with rice and broccoli
  Thursday: Fajitas with rice
  Friday: BBQ chicken with mashed potatoes and corn
   Sat: Minecraft pizza :)  A treat for his birthday party
   Sunday: Tomato basil soup with grilled cheese

On my to do list....
Finish sorting clothes.  I only have mine and hubby's left!  So glad that's over until the fall!
Deep clean bathroom and living room
Iron my new living room curtains
hang curtain rods in my bedroom (I'm getting there!  It's the last room I have curtains for!  It's only taken me a year to cover all these windows, haha!)
Update our American Girl studies on my blog posts

In the craft basket....
I have lots of crafty things I want to do this summer!  It's only a few weeks away!  To me summer starts the minute those tests are finished :)  Right now the only crafty things I'm working on are bloggy things.  I did a lot this weekend!  I updated my linky party list and started my own linky parties: The ministry wives blogroll linky and the weekly weigh in linky   I do have high hopes for this blog, even if it did take a hit when I took so much time off last year.  But that's okay.  It's all about seasons of life!

Looking forward to this week....
  Celebrating my boy!  I'm not sure what we are going to do tomorrow, he just wants to go out to Nags Head, and have dinner after!  My Mom will be here this weekend and that makes me SO SO SO happy!  I've missed her terribly!  I can't wait to take her to the coffee shop and just hang out with her in the yard while the kids play on their trampoline!  I also purchased a lawn chair Saturday, which is where I intend to spend most of my summer, parked in it with a book in my hand :)  I'm looking forward to a lot!

Looking around the house....
  Not terrible.  As I said I wanna do some deep cleaning as last week I felt horrible and just kind of did what I could.  Still have to help my youngest daughter tidy up her room after going through her summer clothes...  and make the guest room look nice for my Mama :)

From the camera....
I have a lot to share this week!  First off, this is one of the funniest things I've seen...

I mean, can I get an application?  lol!

We had to take our kitties to the kennel on Saturday to get fixed.  Since we were already in Kill Devil hills we went driving around, which is what my husband loves to do.  We ended up in Corolla!  It was a neat drive even if we couldn't drive far enough North to see the horses.  We did stop at the beach and saw the Currituck Lighthouse in the background!  Being sick didn't help, nobody felt like doing much, but we will certainly drive back out there!

One of our friends and church members was operating the spreader in the farmland around our house, so he let the boys ride, and they thought that was the coolest!

On Saturday, we got to Nags Head just as the tide went out, and found a Seahorse!!!  I've never seen one on the beach before!  We also found some perfectly shaped shells, but the seahorse was the coolest!  Loved it!! My girl is keeping it and hoping to find a frame for it!

Bible verse, Devotional....
   I've been pondering on this one, and haven't quite put my finger on it yet...

Jeremiah 9:4
“Beware of your friends;
do not trust anyone in your clan.
For every one of them is a deceiver,
and every friend a slanderer.
5 Friend deceives friend,
and no one speaks the truth.
They have taught their tongues to lie;
they weary themselves with sinning.
6 You live in the midst of deception;
in their deceit they refuse to acknowledge me,”
declares the Lord.

But on a kinder note...
