Happy Homemaker Monday!

Hi friends!!!
   I'm rejoining Happy Homemaker Monday after awhile of being mia...   I hope some of you remember me, from here or over at Duncan, Party of Six.  Either way, it's been a great summer, and now that I'm back at it, I'm trying to fix all of my blogs to be in one singular space, so bear with me awhile.  But hopefully I can keep up with this, one of my all time favorite blog hops!  It's good to be back, and I look forward to catching up with all of you!

The weather:::
It's been really cool!  I'm told this is not usual for the Carolina coast in the fall, but I'm LOVING it.  It feels like fall back at home..  crisp and cool..  but we don't have those ice cold mornings I remember either, so I'm fond of that!  It's 73 and feels perfect right now!  I hope it stays!!!

Right now I am:::
Taking a moment to blog and breathe!  Today was our first day of school!!  Yay!  Hubby took the younger kids with him to get Bella from school (she began taking a few classes at the local high school this year) so the house is quiet, and its a nice change!  Isn't he wonderful?

On my reading pile:::
As always, a few things! She Can't Even Play the Piano!: Insights for Ministry Wives is a cute book that I picked up when we first moved here.  So far it's been fun to read, and awesome insight from women who hae been where I am!  Sitting in the pew being the Pastors wife with no musical talent :)  I've also been reading Scarlett which is the sequel to Gone With the Wind!  It's a heavy book but I finally finished it at the beginning of the summer and started this sequel!  So far I'm loving it!!!  But the book that is REALLY rocking my socks off is, Only Love Today: Reminders to Breathe More, Stress Less, and Choose Love by Rachel Macy Stafford (the Hands Free Mama!)  OH my!  This book has been fantastic!  I read it daily with my morning devotions, and it's amazing!!!

Movies or Shows I watched this weekend:::
   Stephen and I just figured out that Netflix will actually work when running on our mobile hotspot on our tablet!  So we have yet to pick up anything but we are excited too!  We stumbled on a show on tv a few weeks ago called Saving Hope that we really enjoyed!  So far it's been a far cleaner Greys Anatomy type show, so we are enjoying it!  I hope it doesn't get as racy as the latter!  Just a few weeks before Once returns!  *squeal!*

On my TV:::
  Sing, at the moment lol.

On the menu for this week:::
   The plan (which I'm unsure will make it this way) will go as this...

Monday: Spaghetti
Tuesday: homemade Tomato Basil soup with cheese tortellini, and grilled cheese for kiddos
Wednesday: Chicken Pot pie
Thursday: Chili (OH how I've waited for the weather to turn cooler for chili!)
Friday: Chicken casserole
Saturday: Mexican food night at Couples meeting at church
Sunday: Unsure...  hopefully going out to eat!  I'm so tired of having to cook on Sunday lol!  The pastors wife deserves the evening off too right!!

On my to do list:::
   We started school today and it was fantastic!  We are doing a lot of new things though, so I really need to spend some time in my teachers manuals making sure I'm not missing anything!  I also have to get to work on a lapbook for TS Elliot's A Tale of Practical Cats.  I can't find one online anywhere!!  And, planning that history lesson!  I'm excited about that part!
   Also, I have a womens' meeting this evening, as well as couples meeting on Saturday, and our mid week service on Thursday.  Other than that, I think my week is pretty quiet!

What I am sewing, crocheting, knitting or creating:::
Absolutely nothing that isn't school related :)  but that's okay!   Well, I am working on pulling this blog together for an all-in-one, so I guess that counts?

Looking around the house:::
I'm still in awe of this home.  its absolutely breathtaking.  I told my kids when we moved to Fruitland that God would reward their sacrifice, and oh how he has!  it's beautiful here!  But a lot more house to keep clean :)  I think we do a pretty good job, all things considered!  At least in the downstairs area haha, but nobody goes upstairs but us anyway :)

 We moved from a 2br apartment to a five bedroom farmhouse..  and

From the camera:::
   It's been a nice couple of weeks!  Our amazing family came down for a visit so we made a Labor Day beach trip!  Then the following week we went out with one of our wonderful church memebrs for a tour of the Scuppernog River, and he let my sweet boy drive!  :)  I love my family, and church family alike!

What I'm wearing today:::
   My jean shorts that keep falling off of me lol, and my vbs worker shirt.  Don't be hating, its a really nice shirt!

One of my simple pleasures:::
   Quiet and coffee!  Simple mornings and seeing my sweet preK boy in school, loving it!

  3. Congratulations on your new farmhouse, sounds wonderful! The start of school is always exciting. I've reached the point already where I'm looking to see where all the days off and breaks are going to be. I watched Sing (mostly by myself, curse of older kids)a few weeks ago and loved it. Hope you have a great week!
