The Tapestry Poem

Absolutely, without a shadow of a doubt, this poem by Corrie Tem Boom is my favorite.  Enjoy!

Life is but a Weaving (The Tapestry Poem)
Corrie Ten Boom

My life is but a weaving
Between my God and me.
I cannot choose the colors
He weaveth steadily.

Oft’ times He weaveth sorrow;
And I in foolish pride
Forget He sees the upper
And I the underside.

Not ’til the loom is silent
And the shuttles cease to fly
Will God unroll the canvas
And reveal the reason why.

The dark threads are as needful
In the weaver’s skillful hand
As the threads of gold and silver
In the pattern He has planned

He knows, He loves, He cares;
Nothing this truth can dim.
He gives the very best to those
Who leave the choice to Him.

Devotions: Whispers of Hope: 10 Weeks of Devotional Prayer

Whispers of Hope: 10 Weeks of Devotional Prayer
   I haven't met a Christian yet who doesn't know who Beth Moore is.  Her bold self-assuredness, coupled with her vast biblical knowledge and love of God, sprinkled with her sweet southern charm makes her always a fan favorite.  I haven't really read much that she has written however, and I'm not sure why.  This is my first Beth Moore book, and my current devotion..  and I'm telling you, it's changed my prayer life for the better.
   I love to write, I'm far more of a writer than a speaker.  Writing helps me to get my ideas out.  I picked this book up after finishing the Joanna Weaver devotion and I didn't have high hopes for it.  I was skeptical, because that devotion was so good I knew it was going to be difficult to top!  I'm glad that I did give this one a try!
   In this devotion, Beth Moore gives a short devotion and then some writing space.  On the writing space, she breaks down the ways that you should pray.  How you should go about praying.  It begins with Praise, Acknowledging that He is God, repentance, intercession for others, for yourself, and then supplication for yourself.
   I am glad I found this devotion, and learned about the art of writing prayers.  It has meant so much to me, its like I'm writing letters to God.  I always knew that prayer never had to be something that you had to have perfect silence to do..  I pray most of the time over the dishes or in the tub...  but it was awesome to find this means of prayer, by writing.  It has been beautiful and soul-enriching for me!  It's also not very heavy, which I require in devotions..  I need something light when I'm trying to wake up lol!
   If you're looking for a good devotion, I do encourage you to pick this one up!  I really enjoy her writing style, and I'm thankful for the new prayer life it has encouraged me!
