Autumn Pie Social

Last Saturday was one of our favorite events, and that is the Autumn Pie Social at church! Each year, the girls wrap up their Life of Faith course that they do at church during the summer.
For those who are unfamiliar with the series, The " A Life of Faith" was a book and doll series like American Girl, but it was Christian based. Unfortunately they no longer publish the books or sale the dolls, but because Shellie, our amazing pastor's wife, got the products when they were still available, our girls get to benefit from it! They love it and they learn so much from it, and they are always excited to take time to step back into time and attend the Autumn pie social!

This year my kids were very excited! We started with our crafts, where we took glass jars and placed foam stickers all over them. Then, we spray painted them white and let them dry. Once they were dry we peeled the stickers and put candles in them! They turned out beautiful!

Then it was time for their baked goods,  My girls decided to try something difficult, so they made a red velvet bundt cake with cream cheese glaze from scratch!  They learned this is much more difficult than just pouring it out of a cake box, but they really enjoyed making it, and it turned out delicious!  It was so fun to spend the evening in the kitchen with my girls, it made me excited about the holiday season, I see lots of baking in our future :)

The day of the social the girls decked out in their old timey outfits!  They looked gorgeous!  We played games like they would have in the old times, we did crafts and had devotions.  The girls loved it!

They also had a contest for the best craft and best dessert, and the girls won best craft!  Christian won best dessert for her made from scratch cupcakes!  They were amazing!  The prizes were well deserved!

The girls were also super excited when they won the drawing for the cabin!

All in all, it was a successful event and a lot of fun!  We can't wait for the girls club again next year!
